CLEAR FASHION A CLEAR WINNER!

From that rainwalk to the Rampwalk, clear fashion is taking over fashion subcultures and how!

Summer is gone and the fall is ushering its tones but it seems like the fashion realm isn’t ready to let go yet. The cool and calm rains have transpired new life and colours into our looks. And how they charm the runways! Here at the fashion tutelage in Hyderabad, we see synthetic making a rise. On the streets you see the transparent strap trend and the holographic vibe hitting the lounges. The youth has made its pick for the fall, Clear, Calculated, Colors. Walk down the lane and you will spot fresh tinted nails and crystalline pouches. It’s catching up real quick and it certainly seizing its moment.

Back in the day, if your bra strap popped out, you’d most likely be brought to attention about it, but 2018 is all about revealing what’s on the inside. Last year saw the rapid, but powerful, explosion of net and mesh clothing and products. There must have been a reason for us to adopt see-through fashion: In a world that’s constantly evolving, transparency is key, even if it’s just letting the world have a peep into what we tote around on an everyday basis. And we have the influence of social media to thank for that. We made a habit of oversharing all the best bits of our life onto Instagram and snapchat and that’s exactly what’s going on in the fashion realm!

Many students, here at home of NIFT, Hyderabad were seen flaunting their clear heels and clear backpacks. Nunhoih from Fashion Design 5th semester says “If Bella Hadid is wearing it, has to be good”. Well she’s definitely not wrong about that. Bella Hadid was one of the first few fashion icons seen carrying off this vogue. Brenda, Textile design student, seemed enthusiastic to talk about the trend, “There’s this thrill in revealing parts of you that you’d never thought you’d end up showing and I feel with this trend you can do that in an innovative way. Clear clothing is meant to cover but yet reveals in the most subtle sense.” Few others mentioned how the trend introduced a whole new side to the minimalist aesthetic. Although not everyone is on board the clear plastic trend, people on campus have been seen sporting fashion pieces that have clear plastic elements in small variations. For example, the clear strapped heels and clear bag handles. Only a selective few students, who keep up with fashion icons are aware about the immensity and growing popularity of it. But the sensation around it is making headlines in social media and it’s soon going to hop onto the mainstream bandwagon.

Now that it’s here, how do we carry off this trend because not everyone can dress like Kim Kardashian on a day-to-day basis. Sure, we’ve seen a plethora of clear clothes that revealed everything inside on the runway, but how much of it can we flaunt in college or the city park? The trick here is to work the trend around your everyday essentials one piece at a time. Pairing a clear trench coat over another checkered trench coat creates a three dimensional play with the clean texture and print. Underneath any clear fashion piece could be another bold statement piece and should have a constructive silhouette. At the end of the day, it all comes down to your personal style and how you want to exhibit it. Why hide your pretty little bralette when you can show off that intricate design? The hype around clear fashion is real and it’s not dying down any time soon.
